Where Have You Gone, Joe DiMagg - I Mean, Rice Krispies Treat Cereal

The other day I was walking around Giant trying to decide which breakfast cereal would serve as the majority of my meals over the coming days when I had a revelation: Kellogg's no longer makes Rice Krispies Treat Cereal. As I stood there in the shadows of the towering rows of brightly colored cereal boxes and realized there was no more sugary, Krispie-based treat cereal to conquer, I wept. The next thing I knew, I was getting run over with a floor buffer. It was 3:00 a.m.. And I was still hungry.

Well, I believe they still make Fruity Pebbles and Cookie Crisp which both have a significant amount of sugar. My personal favorite is Golden Crisp. Can't get enough Super Golden Crisp, Love that honey CRUNCH!

Where to start. 3:00 in the am at the super market looking for cereal, rice krispie cereal at that. Back to the sugar thing that I give you so much crap about. You realize that rice kripsie ceral is pure sugar. Why don't you look into a bran cereal, perhaps with raisins, dates, something that provides some substance.
Anyway...it could be worse, like cocao puffs or fruit loops!

Chris - you're hilarious! Okay, I have to admit that I've had this cereal before; unfortunately, I didn't realize (as you recently found out) that it was no longer available to the general public. It is indeed a sad day! I had it years ago, and just remember the sheer amount of sugar - my teeth, I'm sure, are thanking me... Here's a question - Have you ever played Concentration with a group of people, where you have to choose a category and go around the circle naming items?? Cereal is a fun one; and then your obsession can live on - right up there with Count Chocula and Coo-ookie Crisp!

Sugar Golden Crisp is a very underrated cereal. Good call. I think I'm gonna go get some this afternoon. It really makes the milk taste tasty.

My personal favorite milk colorant is Lucky Charms - there's nothing quite like the purplish-gray tinge that makes every morning complete!

After reading this post, my first thought was, "Does this mean Rice Krispie Treats are gone too?"

If true, what a shame.
